Long-distance move from Napa, CA to Austin, TX

How can you give less than one star

The most HORRIBLE expericece you could ever have. These people are so dishonest, will not call you back, will raise the prices and hold your items hostage. My items finally arrived, almost all of my big furniture has broken legs, many items distroyed, dented and must be thrown away.

I have others peoples boxes of kitchen items, which they could care less about returning back to them. I have called them every day TO try to get my items back, and return other customerse items. I have thousands of dollars in missing and broken items, I have left messages for the last week, NOT one return phone call.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Long-distance move from Florida to Colorado

They did a very good job - trust them with your move.

We Moved 2000 lbs of stuff - 2000 mi from Ft Lauderdale to Denver. Definitely describe it as a huge move. Of course quite nerve wracking and worrisome. All started with Dennis Piedra, our salesperson who did an entirely complete and thorough estimate. He was dead on too! We interviewed 4 companies - all seemed really good actually. The fact that we choose
first class moving and storage speaks to the fact they somehow seemed just a bit more attentive. Dennis was great. We were handed off to Lauren G. Who really kept in great contact as the moving coordinator. Very very professional. We paid for a full pack. This entailed a crew of 4 (plus one do nothing) for three entire days and into one early morning to pack and load. I don't think anything broke at all. We had nearly 200 boxes plus a ton of unboxed furniture !! The Moving crew chief was Robert and his top guy was Dwayne. They were awesome. True gentlemen and hard workers. I don't write reviews but I do have a very high bar for what I consider to be a job well done. First Class Moving and Storage out of Tampa exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended.

Long-distance move from California to Florida

Bad movers.

This company did not pick up my house hold goods but drooped off my house hold goods to my new house/destination. They showed up over 4 hours late. I called the company 3 times to see where they were  they stated each time they were within an hour away.

After unloading the truck the movers seemed eager to leave after no parts were found for the beds They informed my wife they would be back to unpack her the following day because it was getting late ( Because they showed up late) to unpack the boxes. Soon After the main driver allowed all the guys to leave.  The following day they never showed up to unpack so I called and they stated that my wife told them she would unpack and they were unable to find the parts box so my daughter had a mattress on the floor to sleep on. They scratched my new wood floor while they were putting the bedroom set in the master bedroom. I was currently in MT picking up my dad to bring him to FL because he was sick and was unable to deal with them in person.

I will never recommend this company. It seemed as though they took advantage of the situation being that it was just my wife and daughter there to handle this stressful ordeal.

Long-distance move from Florida to Colorado

Excellent Cross Country Move.

I did lots of research to find a reputable moving company to move me from Florida to Denver. I was delighted with First Class Moving Systems based in Tampa. They are a North American affiliate. From the salesman to the delivery, every step was reliable, efficient, and professional. Best of all, they were the lowest bid of four different companies. All my goods arrived on time, in perfect condition, and the movers (who were the same at both ends) were very courteous, professional, and hard working. I highly recommend this company.

Long-distance move from Florida to Minnesota

Spectacular experience!

I hasd "hired" 2 other movers until I read of their horror stories on this website and others. First Class had a good record on other sites as well. I gave them a shot for a long move for my elderly mother. Everything was spectacular from start to finish. I paid exactly what I was quoted. The men that came to load were extremely polite and professional and wrapped everything beautifully. The delivery date was right within the quoted window. The delivery crew were right on time, just as polite and professional as the crew that loaded. We received every item the way it left the house in FL. I could be more pleased. Christy from the office even called both days - while the crews were at our home! - to make sure everything was going well. Big thanks to Christy, Roger, Daniel, Dave, Richard & Matt for a job well done!!  .

Long-distance move from Tampa, FL to Carbondale, CO

Your Logistical Issues Don't Count.

I am writing this review of First Class Moving 10 days into a move from Tampa, Florida to Carbondale, Colorado. And our goods still have not arrived.
I chose to make this cross-country move with a name brand company. First Class is affiliated with North American. Like most people, price was a consideration, but I also appreciated the fact that my sales rep, Phil Grimstead, assured me that all their crews are vetted.
That was clearly the case when our possessions were loaded in Tampa. Expert, fast and friendly.
It's the delivery where my quality concerns are raised. We were told by our move 'coordinator', Mary Morse, that we were going to be the only load on the truck, that the truck would beat us to Colorado and that we could expect delivery the day before or the first day of our 5 day delivery window.
We sped across the country in three and a half days based on this verbal change to our delivery schedule.
But when we arrived at our destination, the 'coordinator' had trouble finding our load and getting us a delivery date.
When we complained, we were finally assured a morning delivery 3 days into our delivery window between 9a and 11a. The driver called at 9a and said he had been delayed and would arrive at 1:30p. The crew he had hired was already on site but gone by the time the truck arrived so -- another day's delay.
Our goods will now be delivered one day before the end of our delivery window, forcing me to miss the first day on a new job and my wife to miss her first day back at work.
One truck, one load, apparently sitting just 3 hours from its destination and not delivered because who knows why.
Promises made, promises kept is good customer service. Though still technically delivering our goods in the 5 day delivery window, we were promised earlier, planned accordingly, and still don't have our goods on this the 10th day of the move.
There is something deeply flawed in a system that cares more about its logistical issues than the logistical issues of the customers it serves.

Refuse to answer important questions on overpayment

This is based on two issues which i have been asking for information from the company and like the other complaints, they just do not feel the need to call back or email back after several requests. Moving is one of the most stressful undertakings and all you want is someone to hold your hand once and say this is the process from a to z and this is the time and the cost and on we go. Nothing was explained as i had to figure it out as we went along and when i would call for clarification or updates, they were never returned. Being dismissed as a customer and person is the worst thing that can happen to someone and indifference say to buying a cheeseburger and not getting a pickle is one thing, but in this case i spent over $12,000 and no response. The two issues were simple enough to explain i would think as any response such as, we will look into it, or that is not our policy is something, but pure silence is never a good thing when a company does this to you,

The first issue is that they charge a rate for weight at x dollars per pound when you get an estimate. When the move was done and i was billed, i had reduced the weight by over 30%, but was not refunded by the x amount rather by a much lesser amount. This is not on, as disclosure is everything and i was told that what you reduce in weight will be reduced in cost to you at the same rate. No response as to why i was essentially overcharged.

The second issue is that i was not able to clear customs when the truck arrived in Canada (move was from Tampa to Canada) as i told them that i would have to quarantine for two weeks and they sent along the load anyway. I was to find out later that they chose a storage moving company (i did not choose, they did) and although i paid first class for door to door which they acknowledged, i had to pay the local company another $1,400 to move my belongings to my home (only 30 miles away) which should have been part of my original order. No response for this double charge. I will pursue this with the Better Business Bureau, Channel 8 on your side and anyone who will provide an answer. There is a difference between customer processing which they did, I should come clean, they did contact me once to provide the bill) and customer service where a simple explanation to a customer is provided. In fairness, 95% of the job was the move which was handled and although some stuff was damaged, what do you expect, but the 5% that a few staff had to take care of has left a horrible taste from this agency.
